Xbox One S 2TB to release 2nd of August

At a price of £350, Microsoft will release the Xbox One S on the 2nd of August.

The 1TB and 500GB versions are yet to have a release date but are rumoured to cost £300 and £250.

An updated Xbox One controller is to also be released on the same date, with a new textured grip and Bluetooth support. Both console and controller to release on the same date in over 25 countries.

Xbox One hardware isn’t the only thing to be released on the 2nd of August. The release date of the console will also coincide with the release of the Windows Anniversary update for all Xbox One Consoles, which will add support for all Universal Windows Apps and background music streaming.

Microsoft also boasted that the Xbox One S will be “the first and only console that allows you to watch Blu-ray movies and stream video in stunning 4K Ultra HD with High Dynamic Range (HDR)”.

The claim will remain true but only for a short time before Sony joins the 4K race with the PS4K.
