Microsoft to skip Gamescom this year

Microsoft will not be holding any press conference at this year’s Gamescom event.

Microsoft has stated that they will be holding Xbox FanFest 2016 in Cologne next month, claiming it will be a “new and more intimate” event.

Although they will not be holding a press conference at Gamescom, they will however be present on the show floor with a booth showcasing Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, Forza Horizon 3, and more.

Microsoft will provide more details on Xbox FanFest within the next month.

Sony will be attending the event but they have not yet disclosed any information on plans. Fans are hoping that Sony will be releasing new information of launch information and a release date of the PlayStation 4K.

Microsoft skipping their Gamescom press conference won’t be much of a loss for the company after their successful conference at E3 earlier this year. The company revealed the Xbox One S and delivered hype for their new Scorpio system next year.
