Gears of War 4 is currently an Xbox One exclusive as the franchise has been since it’s sequel but in an interview with Game Informer, Randy Fergusson was asked if Gears of War 4 could be coming to PC to which he replied “Possibly.”
With Microsoft announcing that Quantum Break will release on Xbox One and PC, it would come at no surprise if it turns out that Fergusson’s response is true, especially with Microsoft trying to push cross-platform services for Xbox and PC.
Fergusson’s hint is also backed up by the fact that Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is currently available for both Xbox One and PC, but let’s not get too excited to early.
Let’s just think that Gears of War 4 could be releasing for PC. Will there be any cross-platform features like Cross-Play? Will you need to own PC and an Xbox One versions of the game?
Let’s hope that if this rumour turns out to be true that Microsoft won’t try to push an Xbox client for it’s PC games, because we all remember what happened last time they tried this. Yes, we’re looking at you Games for Windows Live.
During the interview Fergusson also confirmed that Gears of War 4 will run at 1080p and 30fps, although multiplayer will run at 60fps.
